Community gathers to aid 8-year-old

BENEFIT FOR ASHTON : About 200 people gathered to support Ashton Fox, 8, at the Stanwix Men's Club on Lamphear Road on Saturday. Ashton was diagnosed with with Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukemia, Acute Myeloid Leukemia in March. Ashton, along with his mother, Amy Acceri and sister Jordan Accuri, 12, will be leaving Friday for California to visit his brother, Jamie Fox, 21, through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The family also plans to visit the California Zoo, Universal Studios and other sites. In the photo are Amy Acceri, left, and Ashton with Kelly Lubeck. Lubeck, one of the event organizers, presented the family with a check for $1,000 on behalf of The Michelle M. Adey Memorial Fund. Also donating  were The Amanda L. King Memorial Fund, $750; Kevin Uvanni Memorial, $125; and The Roy Austin Memorial fund, $500.
